You know already that I love crumble pie (Smulpaj). The last one I did was a typical Scandinavian spring/summer pie. This is more a sign of autumn – my apple crumble pie. This recipe is gluten free so everyone has the chance to try and see how delicious it is. 🙂
Ingredients (1 pie):
- 7 oz butter (200g)
- 1 1/5 cup almond flour
- 1 1/5 cup gluten free rolled oats
- 1/3 cup fine granulated sugar
Filling
- 5-7 organic apples
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 ground cardamom
- 1/2 ground ginger
- 3 tbsp maple syrup or honey
Pre heat the oven to 350ºF. Add butter (needs to be room temperature), almond flour, rolled oats and sugar into a bowl. Mix it all together by using your (washed) hands.
Wash, peel and cut the apples in slices or smaller pieces. Place the apples in a buttered quiche pan. Add the cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and syrup and mix together with the apple pieces so all apple pieces have some flavoring.
Crumb the oat mixture over the apples. Bake the pie in the oven for approximately 30 minutes or until the crumbs start to get some golden brown color.
Enjoy it when it’s still warm. Serve with vanilla ice cream or vanilla sauce.
Smaklig måltid!
