Pickled red onions

Pickled red onions – so easy and so delicious! My tip is to prepare pickled red onions and always have it ready in the refrigerator. It takes five minutes to prepare and you can keep it in the refrigerator for two to three weeks without problem. You’ll probably love having a jar of pickled red onion in you refrigerator and serve with your tacos, avocado toast, fish dish, grilled chicken, hamburger, and more!

Ingredients (1 jar):

  • 1 red onion
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tbs granulated sugar
  • 2 tbs white vinegar
  • pinch of salt

Before starting, sterilize your jars before using them (in hot boiling water).

Peel the red onion and slice it as thin as you can. Add the red onion into a jar with lid. Heat water, sugar, vinegar and salt in a saucepan. Let the sugar melt and then take the saucepan from the heat. If you have time, let it cool down. Otherwise, you can directly pour it over the sliced red onions in the jar and let it set for an hour. After an hour, cover with the lid and store in the fridge until it’s time to serve.

Smaklig måltid!
