Celery juice

Everyone suddenly seems to be drinking this green drink, celery juice. With that said, I just had to try it. I am not a big fan of raw celery (love it when I cook e.g. Bolognese), but knowing celery juice should have so many good benefit, made me try it anyhow.

This is definitely seen as super food. Celery contains high amounts of vitamin C and K, folate and potassium. The studies I have read say that celery might even help to fight against cancer, liver diseases and reduce inflammation. The tip is to drink it the first thing you do in the morning on empty stomach. If this is true, I actually think it taste quite good. What do you think?

Ingredients (16oz juice):

  • 1 large bunch of celery
  • ice cubes

Use a juice maker or a blender. Cut off the base of the celery bunch to to separate the stalks. Wash them all in water. Feed the celery through the juicer. Drink it immediately or keep it cold and in a sealed jar maximum 2 days.

If made in a blender. Cut the celery stalks in 1 inch pieces and place them in the blender. Add 1/4 cup water and mix until smooth. Now filter the juice through a coffee filter. Press the celery to get out all the juice. Serve immediately.

Add some ice cubes to make it a cold drink.
