Salmon rolls with horse radish and dill

This is one of my favorite small snack or starter to serve when I have guests. It’s so easy to prepare at the same time as it looks more advance than it is. In Scandinavia we always use flatbread or “tunnbröd” as we call them. You can find “tunnbröd” in the food store at IKEA or you can use tortilla bread or bake your own flatbread.

Ingredients (4 pers):

  • 4-6 flatbreads
  • 7 oz smoked salmon
  • 4-6 tbs cream cheese
  • 1/2 red onion
  • 1-2 inches fresh horse radish
  • fresh dill
  • salt and pepper

Place all the flatbreads next to each other and spread the cream cheese on all of them until the whole top side is covered. Place the thin smoked salmon slices next to each other on top of the cream cheese. Chop the onion in small pieces and spread them over the salmon. Peel and grind the horse radish and spread horse radish and dill over the flatbreads.

Finish with season with salt and pepper. Roll the flatbreads on the short side into a roll. Cut the rolled flatbread in 3/4 inches pieces.

I have served my salmon rolls on a plate with spinach, wasabi mayonnaise, dill and black sesame seeds.
